Poly gel is a unique nail enhancement that merges the flexibility of gel nails with the strength of acrylic nails. It’s ideal for extending natural nails and is distinctively applied by professionals in nail salons. Some of its notable characteristics include being lighter than acrylics and hard gels, offering a natural appearance and feel. It’s non-toxic, safe, and convenient to shape. Additionally, Poly gel is easy to use with professional slip solutions and nail tip molds, making it perfect for crafting beautiful nail art designs. Unlike traditional hard gels, Polygel doesn’t self-level but remains in place until cured with LED or UV light.
Poly Gel combines the best of acrylics and hard gels. It’s lightweight, durable, and more flexible than acrylics, reducing chipping and lifting. Odorless and with a clear consistency, it allows for precise application, ensuring flawless nails. Suitable for both professionals and beginners, it offers a versatile nail enhancement solution.
Advantages:
Usage Tips:
Preparation: Start by washing your hands. Buff the surface of your nail until it’s no longer smooth. Ensure you don’t file your natural nail too much; just enough to roughen the surface.
Primer Application: Apply a primer bonder and wait for about 30 seconds. Apply a second coat and wait for approximately 1 minute. Some products might remain tacky, and that’s okay. There’s no need to cure it under UV as it’s not a UV product and will dry by itself.
Base Coat: Apply a thin layer of base coat and cure it under a UV lamp for 60 seconds. This layer will remain tacky, so avoid wiping it.
Poly Gel Application: Apply the poly gel. Cure it under UV for 60 seconds. Depending on the color you use (like white or darker shades), it might take longer to cure. For instance, QBD poly gel can take up to 2 minutes to cure with a 36w UV lamp or higher. The curing time also depends on the wattage of your UV lamp.
Optional Color Application: If you wish, you can apply a UV gel polish color. Apply thin layers and cure each layer for 60-90 seconds. The curing time might vary based on the darkness of the color.
Top Coat: Finish by applying a top coat and cure it under UV for 60 seconds.
Removing Tips:
Buffing: Gently buff the top layer of the gel polish using a nail file. This breaks the seal and allows the remover to penetrate better.
Soak: Soak a cotton ball in acetone or a specialized gel polish remover. Place it directly on the gel polish.
Wrap: Wrap each finger with a small piece of aluminum foil, ensuring the cotton ball stays in place over the nail. This helps to keep the acetone or remover concentrated on the gel polish.
Wait: Let the nails soak for about 10-15 minutes. The gel polish should begin to lift and bubble up.
Gently Scrape: Using a cuticle pusher or an orange stick, gently scrape away the loosened gel polish. If any polish remains, re-soak and repeat.
Moisturize: After all the gel polish is removed, wash your hands and apply a nourishing cuticle oil or hand cream to replenish moisture.
